BONDI BEACH

It’s finally time to take a look back at this brief trip to Australia earlier this year. It was an unforgettable trip where a bunch of my closest friends travelled over to Sydney to see our friends get married. In between the wedding we managed to fit in some exploring which included the famous walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee. Since it was back in April, it was the Australian autumn and the weather was perfect – wonderfully sunny, warm but not crazy hot. We walked along the coastline and took in that sea air, the changing scenery from sandy beaches to a graveyard on the cliff edge and lots of rocky coves. It took us over 2 hours to complete the walk as we stopped at some of the beaches on the way and we eventually arrived in Coogee. We treated ourselves to some well deserved lunch which turned out to be my first ever bowl of Poke, yum. It was such an awesome day!

I must admit, I’ve been putting off editing my holiday photos and I’m not really sure why. I really loved going through these again. I enjoyed taking photos at Bondi and it’s easy to see why, it’s just so photogenic and I remember juggling between my dslr and my iPhone to get my fill of images. Having the chance to see the Bondi Iceberg pools for myself was pretty unreal and I’m sure most of us have come across some of these familiar scenes over on Instagram.

This guy sitting at the corner of the pool proved to to be the perfect focus for my camera and composition for a couple of my photos. How lucky these guys are to be able to swim in these seawater pools, they’re really quite special.

I better get on with the editing of the rest of my photos but I’m really pleased I managed to visit Sydney this year. For me, this last year has been great in terms of ticking off more destinations off my list. I don’t consider myself to be that well travelled but I’ve certainly made a dent in the past year.

On that note, I’ve got a quick city break with my sisters in Madrid this weekend, I absolutely can’t wait to explore the city. No doubt I will be taking a million photos of pretty buildings, eat plenty of churros and the Art History geek inside me is really very excited to see Picasso’s Guernica!
