HELLO JANUARY

winnie
Hello! I can’t believe it’s 10 days into 2016 but better late than never right? After a bit of a lull after Christmas and the whole back-to-work stuff going on, I’ve found a lack of inspiration when it comes to the blog and instead, have spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos rather than blogging. However – I’m back (complete with blurry selfie above!) with a whole bunch of things that I photographed this weekend of things that I am loving at the moment! So influenced by the amount of ‘favourites’ videos I’ve been watching, here we go…

Larsson and Jennings CM Watch – Silver

This was a Christmas present and it’s my favourite accessory at the moment. I am still getting used to wearing a watch again after so many years going without. It’s so nice to be able to glance at my wrist fort he time rather than using my phone! I’d toyed between getting this one or the slightly slimmer version but it was just a bit too dainty for me.

iPhone 6S in Rose Gold and Line Friends phone case (Brown Bear)

I upgraded my phone back in October but going from an iPhone 5 to the 6S was a massive deal and a big difference. I went for the 64GB because I take so many photos and use it for music too. I may be a bit poorer because of it but I love it and the Line Friend’s phone case I found in HK is the best and looks perfect with the Rose Gold!

Kiehls Creme de Corps Body Butter

I have had this body butter for a while now but only just started to use it more often again especially because it’s full on winter mode in the UK and dry elbows are really not the one. This stuff is so rich and moisturising! I’ve never tried the original body lotion but after using this, I’m tempted to try it.

Panda Slippers

My best friend bought these panda slippers for my birthday which I believe were from Accessorize. They’re super cute and keep my feet nice and toasty – essential for this time of year.

Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion foundation

I’ve been using Cushion BB creams for the past year (starting with Korean brands IOPE and Hera) and since then, Lancome, MAC and I think L’Oreal have come out with their own versions too. It’s no wonder really when the Koreans are so innovative with their skincare and make up. This limited edition cushion foundation was a gift from my aunt and it’s the most gorgeous design. Sulwhasoo is a high end Korean brand and it’s full of amazing products. This particular cushion compact is limited edition which I believe was only available in Korea. I feel like a princess every time I open it up.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 05

I finally gave this hybrid lipgloss balm a go as it’s a firm favourite with so many beauty bloggers. It smells amazing and a bit like a vanilla-popcorn kind of scent which to be honest, is what won me over first. It’s non-sticky and slightly glossy. I like it layered with a lip balm and a tint because for me, it can be a bit drying when used on it’s own. *Edit – I’ve only found it drying when constantly reapplying the lip perfector exclusively – it’s definitely not a lip balm.

Max Factor Color Elixir Lip Liner in Mauve moment

This is a recent discovery! My younger sister accidentally bought this in the wrong shade and so I ended up having it off her. It’s pretty much my natural lip colour so really great for pairing with the Clarins Instant Light or with a bit of a lip tint.

Totoro Keyring

The Studio Ghibli store in Causeway Bay in Hong Kong makes me feel like a kid in a sweet shop. I couldn’t resist buying all sorts of things and one of them was a new plushie keyring for my keys. There is very little chance of me being unable to find my keys when a big fluffy Totoro is on the end of it!

Moleskin Doraemon Limited edition

I love Doraemon. My grandparents used to tape the anime in Hong Kong and send them over to the UK in great big care parcels. I definitely attribute my Cantonese to watching Canto dubbed anime as a kid. Michelle very kindly gifted me this – it’s super cute and I keep looking at it. I really must start using it soon!

Bandai Sailor Moon Miracle Romance Sailor Uranus & Sailor Neptune Twin Lip Balm Rod

The longest name ever. If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed these when I first bought them from Sasa in HK. They are AMAZING to look at huh? Sadly they taste like soap which I am SO gutted about – but they look so cool.

Kara small textured leather backpack

I saw this when shopping in Lane Crawford with Michelle. I am loving backpacks at the moment (I use a Longchamp one every day) and as soon as I clocked this little leather lavender coloured bag from Hong Kong/New York based brand Kara, it was love! It’s really smart, compact and is my go-to bag at the weekends at the moment. I’m sure that will change when I eventually make my next big bag purchase…

Wood Wood scarf

This scarf is my absolute favourite. It’s simple, really warm and goes with everything. I bought it at the Liquor Store in Birmingham (amazing independent retailer) and I have literally, not stopped wearing it.

Frends headphones

I have always loved the look of Frends headphones so when they were discounted over the Black Friday deals back in November, I purchased them asap! The oil slick ones are definitely more me over the infamous rose-gold and white ones. The sound quality isn’t bad at all but I guess they will never compare to the likes of Seinheiser/Bose etc. I like the fact you can buy interchangeable caps to switch up the look of them. Though to be honest, I probably won’t be bothering with those.

Face Paint by Lisa Eldridge

Lisa Eldridge is amazing and I have literally fallen asleep to her YouTube videos – she has the most soothing voice! It’s been a few months since she’s released it now and I’ve been dipping in and out of it. For someone who really likes history, branding and make up – this is such a fab read. Lisa has obviously put everything into researching this book and it really comes across. I love the pictures of her vintage make up and it’s something really worth checking out if you’re interested in beauty and the history of make up.

Fuji Instax films

Ok – I can’t NOT go to HK and hunt down cool Instax films in the myriad of computer malls in HK. I always go to the Computer Centre in Mong Kok which I always get my films from and I bought a few…! Ebay is still a pretty great place to buy cheap film but it made sense for me to pick up lots in HK when they were so readily available, especially for my beloved Doraemon, Sanrio and Rilakkuma characters.

Right so that’s one post done for now! I think the rest of today calls for a relaxing bath, candles and maybe a Korean drama…
