WINNIE EATS: EAT TOKYO & SHACKFUYU

eat tokyo

Time for a mega quick food post. At the weekend I visited Eat Tokyo with my friend Nicola. She has been away from blogging for a few years now (and has long been my skincare guru) and I am very happy to see she has started blogging again over on BeYu Make up, so do check out her posts!

We caught up on Saturday and we opted for the biggest Sushi bento box ever. It was awesome and mega value at only £15. It  came with a miso soup, lots of tempura, sashimi, maki, nigiri and some chirashi (mixed sushi and rice). We ordered one each and I think my favourite was the Sashimi, the tuna was especially delicious! We were so stuffed that I barely touched the rice that was sitting under slices of fish in the chirashi part of the bento. I think if you were up for sharing, it would be a great idea to order one of these and perhaps another dish or two to share between friends. I’d definitely come back as it was such good value and a price that’s hard to beat in London.

After walking it off and mooching around Covent Garden for a little bit, we ventured back and visited Shackfuyu (by Bone Daddies). It’s next door to Eat Tokyo which is super handy and we went there to sample their Kinako French Toast with soft serve Matcha ice cream (£6) and a yummy non-alcoholic cocktail. We had the California Dreaming cocktail (£4) which is made up of cranberry juice, Lychee and Lime juice. Super refreshing and sharp. The real showstopper was the dessert though, it was so delicious! Sharing is caring and since we had such a massive dinner, we opted to share the dessert as the French toast is quite heavy and was a perfect sharing portion. The French toast was light and fluffy but also had a slight crunch as it was lovely and caramelised on the outside. The Kinako (soybean flour) also made the perfect topping. As ever Bone Daddies soft serve is always on point. In all, it was such a great way to end the evening and Nic and I left in a slightly delirious food coma. Happy days!
