Introducing a childhood favourite. HK egg waffles aka 鷄蛋仔 have always been one of my favourite Hong Kong street snacks and evoke lots of happy memories. Last year, my family brought over some small egg waffle irons for us to have a play with which was pretty exciting. These irons are more old school and aren’t too easy to get hold of, but there are electric ones (similar to normal waffle makers) avaliable too which are probably more convenient. We had plans to use them on the BBQ but it needs a more intense flame so it went straight on the cooker! We made lots of variations, ranging from original, green tea and ones with chocolate drops. In my opinion, they’re all pretty awesome but you can’t really beat original flavour – so good!
