Fine Dining and Big Bang

In my last post I mentioned about my awesome trip to London and boy, did it live it to expectations. It was my cousin’s birthday and we all went to Apsleys, a very fancy Italian restaurant inside the luxury hotel located on Hyde Park Corner. Of course I took some photos so here we go!

We started with an Amuse Bouche which is a little hors d’œuvre, they had much fancier descriptions but this was a crispy risotto ball with crushed peas. This was followed by a Pumpkin and Ginger soup with crispy ravioli – I’m a fan of anything ginger and the flavours in this soup were amazing and easily the best dish that I tried that day. My main was the Gnocchi with wild mushrooms and pumpkin foam which was flavoursome and buttery.

For dessert I had the Muesli crumble with yoghurt foam and blueberry sorbet and then we were whisked away and seated in the lounge area by a roaring fire which was lovely. Here we sipped on freshly brewed coffee and a final chocolate and sweet selection. I have to say, I’ve only eaten at one other place for fine dining and Apsleys didn’t let me down – it’s pricey but absolutely worth it for a special occasion. A big, BIG shout out and thank you to my eldest cousin who was super generous treated us all – it was awesome!

The second reason we were in London was to attend the Big Bang concert at Wembley. Big Bang are the biggest band in Asia and I’ve been so excited to the lead up ever since we managed to get tickets. Just to highlight this, they’ve never EVER played Europe before – let alone the UK and so to sell out 2 dates at Wembley Arena is a pretty big deal! I have SO much love for them – hard to understand when you’re not into Korean Pop (or any other languages) but they are AWESOME. Here are some pics and a video for all the Big Bang fans out there!

They are also HUGE advocates of MCM and so here is TOP on his MCM branded segway! Their choreography was also brilliant and their tour was choreographed by Laurie Ann Gibson who is super well known for working with Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

Oh it was such an awesome day and it makes me smile every time I think about it – a little sad that it is all but a memory now though! I hope I get to see them again in the UK or else my sister and cousin have said that someday we’d like to see them in Korea or Japan. Haha, we like to dream!

Hope everyone has a lovely week – I’ve done all my shopping now and Christmas is less than a week away, but seriously, how FAST has Christmas crept up on us this year?!
