I can’t resist doing one more post before the year is out. It’s been an awesome year and I felt the need to put one of these year in review posts together. I’ve only chosen a handful of photos and some of these you’ve seen before but some of them are new but here we go! 2012 started with a job hunt that was proving to be quite slow and at the end of February I took the plunge and disappeared off to Hong Kong for a few months to work but also had equal measures of play as I got to catch up with family, old friends and make some awesome new ones. I loved every minute from the simple things like walking to the bus stop after work where I would catch views like the one below to discovering new parts of HK with friends!
On my return, my sister had booked us tickets to see Incubus at Brixton Academy. They’ve been the soundtrack of a huge chunk of my life. I’ve seen them several times on arena tours and festivals but not at a venue as small as Brixton. I was instantly transported back to my school days!
The Summer also saw the Wedding of my housemate Nat from my Art History days at Uni. It was a beautiful wedding and I couldn’t have been happier for the lovely couple.
Ever since I heard about the opening of the Warner Brother’s Harry Potter Studio Tour, I knew I had to go. So one day my dad treated us to a fantastic day out with my sisters. As you can tell from this photo – we were so happy to be there!
The next highlight of the year was being treated to Bestival by the wonderful guys over at Echo Falls. It’s hands down the best festival I’ve ever been to. I took my friend Rachael who after some thought is one of the very first people I made friends with at uni. She recently got engaged just before Christmas, on the ice at Somerset House. Swoon! Congrats Rach!
In November I started a new job and celebrated my 26th birthday. A number that I still can’t quite believe – but I had a lovely evening with some of my very best friends that I’ve known since school. That’s 15 years of friendship right there. Sally is leaving for Australia next year and Hannah is planning on working abroad so who knows when I will spend my birthday with these guys again.
Only a few weeks ago – my sister and cousin trooped down to Wembley stadium to see Big Bang. A K-Pop group that I never ever imagined I would see in the UK. So cue lots of fangirling and lots of happy dances when I saw those boys that night…
So that was a random cap of some of my highlights from this year. It’s been a good one. I hope you all have a fantastic NYE, whether you’re staying in or partying it up. 2013 is going to be awesome – I just know it!!!
