So in September I started my masters and before I knew it, the end of the summer term arrived and this was marked by a wonderful Summer ball. It was the perfect excuse to let our hair down, get all dressed up before we dedicate our remaining few months to the writing of our dissertations.
I think I was super lucky with this dress which I bought on a whim at ASOS.
Dress (Asos) Clutch (Zara) Shoes (New Look) Necklace (Vivienne Westwood) Lipstick (Nars, Funny face)
The ball was held at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens which is such an impressive 15 acre garden and one which I’ve never fully explored before. We were lucky because the weather was gorgeous and we were able to have a bit of a wander in the grounds before we settled in for our meal. The gardens are reknown for it’s beautiful peacocks. Stunning!
After our wander, we moved to the large reception room which was rather fancy!
Not long after we poured the first glasses of wine, our 3 course meal began. We had a red pepper and basil soup, but clearly I couldn’t resist trying it before I took this photo.
Our main was chicken with a green beans, vegetable parcel and a the creamiest mash potato ever.
The dessert of white chocolate and fruit jelly trifle was seved in little glass teacups.
I took hundreds of photos after the meal which mainly consisted of dancing to a live band, posing for cheesy photos and dancing to the cheesy tunes provided by the DJ.
My feet were hurting so much by the end of the night but it was an awesome night and definitely one which we won’t forget in a hurry!
