While a move to London is definitely on the cards at some point (got to get my masters over and done with before I contemplate moving to the capital) sometimes I wish I lived closer than the 1hr 30mins away. This is so I can aimlessly walk up and down a street in the hopes of snagging the latest installment of the YSL Manifesto.
It’s main aim is to allow a broader demographic for the customer base and it’s really quite clever marketing. The YSL fall/winter 2009-2010 manifesto hits streets on Saturday 12th September and the first 2,000 passer-bys will receive the manifesto, complete with canvas tote, designed by creative director, Stefano Pilati. As well as London, other major cities included are New York, Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seoul. I’m also pretty sure that if you keep your eyes and ears open then you will find where abouts they are handing them out!
The tote features Christy Turlington and the YSL Manifesto Micro site goes live the same day. It will show behind the scenes footage of the previous manifestos as well as allowing visitors to download a copy of the manifesto for themselves.
If you’re lucky enough to grab one of these, trips down to the supermarket in aid of your favourite cupcakes need never be boring again!
