FLAME: A LITTLE TREAT

If I have to be honest, being a blogger is probably the worst thing to have happened to my bank balance. Bloggers are just such enablers and when you are constantly reading blogs, checking instagram, twitter, pinterest etc etc, it's hard not to want to do a teeny tiny bit of shopping. A little while ago, I saw a selfie posted online with 'Tom Ford Flame' as the caption and I could't quite shake it out of my mind for weeks! It's an awesome colour but Tom Ford's make up is just eye wateringly expensive. After contemplating the purchase for a while, I finally bit the bullet when Selfridges had a 10% beauty sale. I cringe at the amount I paid for it but guys, it's such a stunning matte colour. It sat on my desk for about a week before I mustered up the courage to smudge the TF that's stamped across the bullet (and er, also because I needed to photograph it in daylight - blogger problems huh?). It smells awesome and a little like MAC's vanilla scent but even better. It's buildable and I've worn it slightly sheer to super red like in these pics - so it's pretty versatile. Please excuse my messy hair in these photos but it's pretty rare for me to post these kind of shots of my face on the blog. I don't usually like a close up (shudder) but it's hard to talk about a lipstick and not show it in action...well here goes nothing eh?

  3. Oh I still haven't been brave enough to wear red, but you do it beautifully! I do love TF formula though so I guess it does "justify" the price :P

  13. You definitely should, some days I don't feel as brave as others and opt for a sheer application which means my lips are just a little bit tinted! Oh and you're so right, the TF formula is dreamy!

  14. Thanks Stephanie! Oh half the things I own is probably triggered by something I've seen or read. It's crazy.

  15. Oh yes the way the Monica Vinader rings are designed are set are so beautiful! I've often thought that the shape is like a lamp bulb too!

  16. Aw thanks Louise - I took these in a bit of a rush before I was about to leave the house so I have a few stray hairs in my face haha. It's pretty easy to get inspired by other bloggers isn't it? I mean even if it's spotting a great interiors photo on Pinterest, I get inspired to buy random things like vases and other props. Oh dear!

  18. Thanks so much Yuming! Oh yes the orange-red is definitely similar to Lady Danger. I agree with the lipsticks - I don't buy that many generally but the ones that I do own are lovely and this is probably the loveliest of them all so far!

  19. Thanks Sophia! Maybe I'll do some more face photos if these faces aren't too scary haha ;) I just feel a bit self conscious seeing my face just THERE. Blog enabling is the worst...but also it can be pretty fun too. You should ask Michelle what I mean!! :P

  20. Thank you! Yeah since I work in the day most of my pics have to wait until the weekends! I can't wait for the days to become longer and brighter!

  21. Thank you! I'm so pleased I bought this in the end. Oh I really hesitated the first time I wore it with the smudging of the logo! I can only imagine how it must be when people own those Cat shaped ones from Paul and Joe!

  24. It's so difficult to not be inspired when reading blogs - my wishlist is never ending and I'm always running out to buy products after I see them mentioned in my favourite blogs. I suppose at least this way you know you're actually going to like the product, rather than just impulse buying and not knowing if it'll be any good or not. Anyway, I love that lippy on you, it was well worth the splurge!

  25. I always get inspired by reading blogs, and that's awesome but a bit less for my money indeed. I am always running out of money so fast, hihi.

Love that red lip! It really suits you!

  26. Thanks Jessica! It's really influenced the way I shop and what I shop for, that's for sure. Most of the time for the better though as I tend to buy better quality now :)

  27. Yes that's the way I feel too - I knew the lipstick would be a good call as the girl who wore it was Chinese too so I felt as though she'd tried and tested it for me! Ah I will not need to buy another lipstick for ages ;)

  28. Thanks! It's definitely a favourite at the moment and I'm glad I splurged on a little bit of Tom Ford, no regrets!
