Winnie Eats: BIRD

Winnie Eats: Bird Menu

Winnie Eats : Bird, FEAST
A little while ago I was in London hanging out with Kristabel and one thing is for sure, whenever we get together, food is ALWAYS involved. After spotting Bird on Instagram, we hot footed it to East London to sample their fried chicken. We had original buttermilk fried chicken wings with a soy and spring onion dip and some Korean style wings too. The wings were really good, perfectly juicy and the batter was lovely and crisp. If I had to be picky, the red pepper sauce could have been spicier but it was still good. For sides, we shared the fries (which were really yummy) and an Asian style cucumber salad. The latter is always a refreshing choice but I'm not going to lie, it will never beat my favourite cucumber salad at Din Tai Fung (see this post) but to be fair DTF has a Michelin star so I'm being a little unfair. I'm really pleased we made it here in the end as it was a perfect place to satisfy our fried chicken cravings and it was a really great little space too. I'd definitely like to come back and sample more of their menu. Check them out if you are ever in the area!

  1. God, I love Din Tai Fung. I took my boyfriend to their restaurant in Beijing after having been to the Hong Kong one myself and he demanded that we went back the next day as well!
Haven't heard of Bird before, but being an East Londoner I'll have to take a peek soon!

  2. oooof this looks decent! Better than Stax? I was so so on Stax actually, I enjoyed it but seemed kinda overpriced for the size.

  3. Omfg those wings with the soy and spring onion dipping sauce look INSANE. Soy, spring onion and garlic dip is my favourite thing to use to make a dish feel more special.

  16. Oh dang that looks so good. I love it when they give you the shredded radish in boatloads at the more traditional korean places- it makes me feel less guilty about eating so much fried protein XD
