Oh yes, I am SO ready for the Summer, the weather has perked up a bit and Summer is definitely in the air. The thing with the warmer season is that wearing headphones is kind of uncomfortable. They're brilliant in the winter as they double up as ear muffs and keep my ears nice and toasty but not so great when it's already warm outside. I know it won't be long until I have to swap them for my standard earphones which let's be honest when it comes to sound, they don't have anything on real headphones. I don't think I'll get to visit a beach this year but one of my favourite Summer tunes is Incubus' Wish You Were Here, which is even better when you listen to it on the beach with the sound of waves softly crashing on the shore. Oh, if only I lived near the sea rather than Birmingham, the most landlocked city in the whole of the UK. Rubbish!
I get incredibly nostalgic when it comes to this song. It reminds me of awesome Summers on the beach, festivals, hanging out with my best friends and other happy memories. Definitely a song that I adore. Do you guys have any Summery songs that make you all nostalgic? I'd love to know what they are!

I love the print on your dress. I don't have any summer nostalgia songs but I have them for winter and my drama club.
ReplyDeletelove the dress! I am definitely into the whole pattern thing right now and I seriously need a denim jacket XD
ReplyDeleteLove the 'earmuffs'..such sweet colors in your outfit.
ReplyDeleteSo love your outfit. Oh..its suddenly very HOT here. Maybe its too soon..I'm not rethinking. Hope you have a wonderful summer. Great pics..& song.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute dress ! ANd I know, the summer and heat hit Sweden as well and I just LOVE it ! :))))
ReplyDeleteCute dress!
ReplyDeleteYup: Sooooo ready for the summer. And so true: earphones have nothing on headphones. Sennheiser's are amazing though.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress and shoes. I need those shoes!
Lovely jacket!
ReplyDelete♥
Your outfit's colors match so perfectly! <3
ReplyDeletehaha, we really are landlocked aren't we?! I've got far too many summer-nostalgia songs to count, but lemon jelly always reminds me of lounging by a pool in Italy. I love it! x
ReplyDeletei love that song, actually i love that album! & your shoes are so cute x
ReplyDeleteI do live (well, for 23 more days) by the sea, however, it doesn't get as warm as it does further inland, because the wind is crazy here. Such a shame.
ReplyDeleteLove summer songs that make you nostalgic, I have a thing for the music of my childhood in the summer- Oasis, blur, trashy 90's dance music, Simply Red, The Stranglers, all the things my parents used to play I suppose.
Loving your dress too btw. Looking lovely as ever.
love your blog! I'm really loving all these posts I'm finding about everyone so excited for summer. I have so many songs that remind me of summer as well. Kid Cudi- Pursuit of Happiness was a driving song for me and my friends last summer... gonna bust that one out again right now!
ReplyDelete-your newest follower, (another) Winnie

such a nice song that is, brings back memories ;)
ReplyDeleteyou look so cute darling, love your shoes. btw. im so happy about it being warm and sunny.. but i can't be too safe that summer is here.. it snowed just a week ago.. so strange. and upsetting. But i hope it will stay summer-ish now and until november. that would be a-ok to me.
xx
Ooo love all your peaks of purple, Winnie!! And you are so right about headphones in the summer. In the ATL they are just miserable (pretty much anything covering your body on really hot n' humid days is miserable).
ReplyDeleteSummery song... when Cath and I went to beach week senior year in highschool we listened non-stop to Peaches n' Cream - probably not the high point of my music taste (and it totally dates us- that was 10+ years ago), but it totally makes me nostalgic for those simple(r) days!
Your shoes arelovely, and I adore that song! Bring on summer for real, we had a taste and now I want more!
ReplyDeleteOh man I haven't listened to Incubus in years. Used to love them and even saw them live at Wembley around 2004 which was amazing!!! This song is ace and is definitely reminding me of the summer, loving the nostalgia
ReplyDeleteBow Dream Nation xx
You look so pretty in purple, my dear! Imogen Heap always reminds me of summer, especially "Goodnight and Go"...sigh x
ReplyDeletei totally use my headphones as earmuffs too! good music always seems to make the summer all the more memorable. i love those flats too!
ReplyDeletei love the cpolored tights <3
ReplyDeleteooo this post really got me in the mood for summer! haha i had to pick up some headphones today for a coach journey and there's loads of huge hello kitty varieties in hmv, i nearly got them and then was like wait a minute, i barely even use headphones! they were so cool though, bet yours look great with your hair!xx
ReplyDeleteOh i love that song, shamefully it's the first time i have ever heard of it. The headphones/Ear muffs are brilliant and i agree, quality is much better out of proper headphones rather than those ear bud type ones.
ReplyDeleteA ton of songs make me nostalgic. I have this memory that relates everything back to music. It's crazy.
ReplyDeleteI am in looove with your shoes because they are so perfect for spring/summer!

I love 'Wish You Were Here'! Great song and a great band. Hmm, I have quite a few songs that remind me of summer but the ones popping in my head are anything from Vampire Weekend, especially from their first album as I went to see them a few summers ago =D bliss...
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in your outfit! Love your shoes! I see you have many from TS.. ;p I can't help myself either!
Amazing! Looove your blog! FOllowing! Follow back? <3
ReplyDeletelovely outfit.
ReplyDeleteTotally feeling the *why oh why do I live in the Midlands and not near the sea?* thing. I think the closest beach to us is Rhyl or something, which is not too impressive, and not too warm either. And of course I decided to come to a completely land-locked country to study this summer semester too. Woo... :p
ReplyDeleteI love that song! 'Are you In' by Incubus reminds me of high school.
ReplyDeleteBlister in the Sun by Violent Femmes always makes me think of summer!
I agree, Wish You Were Here is an amazing song and brings back lots of memories for me. Planet Funk's Inside All The People and the New Radical's You Get What You Give also bring back lots of memories too. xxx
ReplyDeleteCute violet tights:)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
wow, didn't know you liked incubus! they are awesome XD My summer song is definately "Holiday" by Vampire Weekend, it's so light and happy! In fact I went to their concert last summer and the played it, so it's a metalinguistic summer song haha!
ReplyDeleteYour shoes are so pretty :)

ReplyDeleteThat is such a great song! I wish I could go to the beach right now. So can't wait for summer!
ReplyDeletelove your earphones. i have some panasonics but end up using the little white ones for some reason instead. but you're right they are nowhere near as good for sound.
ReplyDeleteLove the combination of colors in your outfit!!!

ReplyDeleteMaria xxx

ReplyDeletelovely outfit :)

I love the colors of your outfit! It's so funny that Birmingham is considered landlocked - in the US it would be considered near the coast. I can't relate to Americans who can live in a state that doesn't touch either the Pacific or Atlantic.
ReplyDeleteYour dress is beautiful, what a lovely print and I adore the colour. It looks fabulous with the purple tights. I am missing the warm weather already, wish it was summer here.
ReplyDeleteYou're always so colourful :) xo
ReplyDeletecute dress :)
ReplyDeleteand yes, I am ready for the summer too!
xo
ahhh! I feel like that about that song too. you look adorable lady
