As a blogger, I constantly find myself making mental notes when I come across something that I want to share on here. So when I came across the 'Pop Your Colour' editorial in the March 2011 issue of Glamour, I knew it was destined to meet my scanner. After hungrily devouring the pages of colour blocked goodness, I've come to the conclusion that I totally need to stock up on brightly coloured skinny belts, clothes in neon and primary hues from the high street.
As much as I adore editorials and know that I would never ever be able to afford the clothes modeled, the prices that are sometimes printed alongside always shock me. Can you even imagine spending £520 on a pink cotton t-shirt?? I apologise if you've just choked on your tea and made a mess of your laptops, but yes that's one insane price point for the average joe (but I still love you Jil Sander!). Anyway, here are my favourites from the editorial, enjoy!

I should probably mention that a certain blogger does colour blocking incredibly well and the Jil Sander trews featured in the editorial remind me of this awesome post by Kit of Style Slicker. Amazing.

It's OK, I've recovered from the shock of the price of that t-shirt with some much needed cakey goodness. Phew.

ReplyDeleteI love colour so much, I often wear smart office clothes to work but in crazy colours (orange tights, blue skirt, pink top). I often wonder if I just look like a crazy lady, but this makes me feel better! xx

I love the editorial you've posted, but gosh the prices are ridiculous. I can understand paying a lot of money for something that looks a lot of money, like you know, a wedding dress, or a ballgown, or a crown or something, but on a t-shirt?! what's the point?!

Ah I thought the exact same thing when i saw thoes images in the mag this month!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great editorial and I certainly love the pops of vibrant colour however I am with you on the insane prices, I definitely couldn't afford to pay them. I tend to just look at editorials for inspiration on how to put certain looks together then find more price appropriate inspiration onthe high street.

Haha, I am forever thinking the same thing when reading magazines. I'm always like "...$600 for a plain white t-shirt. WHO WOULD BUY THAT?!?! Do they know they can get five THOUSAND white t-shirts for that much???"

I randomly bought Glamour the other day and when I saw that spread I meant crazy... I love it, I wear black and grey mostly and it made me so envious but also inspired to buy some brightly coloured pieces this spring ! P.s. That cake looks amazingg !!! Molly xo

I always think that the clothes that a lot of these magazines show are far too pricey for the average girl about town .... but at least they give us idea's and we can stock up on basics from the high street stores :D
