Bright Lights and Carousels.

Every year I visit the Birmingham German Market. Apparently it's the largest of it's kind outside of Germany itself and it's always fun to visit. I went recently with some friends where we bought our mulled wine and stood huddled outside of a giant polar bear shaped stall (sadly no pictures-but it sold Beer!) desperately trying to keep warm in the seemingly arctic conditions. Maybe it was the copious amounts of Wine and Beer but everyone around us were really jolly, all dancing and singing along to the the band that were playing Christmas songs.

Of course, I bought my camera along and took some photos, mainly of the Carousel. Carousels are always great to take photos of, they're so interesting and it's pretty hard to get a boring shot. Hmmm maybe just blurry shots seeing as I don't own a fancy DSLR! One day....

I'm trying to use my Fuji Instax more sparingly seeing as I run the risk of burning a whole in my pocket when it comes to replacing the film. These are enlarged way bigger than the actual photos but they still look cool!

I'm definitely feeling all festive now. Our Christmas tree was put up last night and everyone is busy Christmas Shopping. I've been super organised this year and ALL my shopping is done. Yay! So it's quite nice to sort of observe the frantic Christmas shoppers, are you one of them and the big question is what do you hope to receive for Christmas?

    i adore the instax pictures, they are so beautiful! i'd love a camera like that but i would just sped ridiculous amounts on the film, money i just don't have at the moment, hehe!

    i'm so excited for christmas it's ridiculous! my wishlist isn't as long as most years, but i'd really like a v&a book on the previous quilts exhibition, a diary, a calendar plus some william morris and cath kidston bits and bobs :)

    I was just looking up trains to Bham I really want to visit sometime but I doubt I'll be able to squeeze in a visit till the new year so I'll miss out on the xmas markets :(

    The instax photos look gorgeous- I've got an old film camera lurking somewhere- was gonna save it for summer but you've inspired me to use it this christmas!

  11. I use to LOVE this as a kid and beg my mum for 'just one more turn', I think that carousel pictures always look magical too. Oh I would have loved to have seen the bear shaped stall :P
    Oh Bloody Christmas shoppers are doing my head in, they are all cracked up and mental ...even in the supermarket not good.
    I just asked my bloke for same H&M vouchers so next year I can reinvent my wardrobe with a few staple pieces :)

  15. I'm almost done all my shopping! But I'm usually done early-ish. I could never be one of those people who goes out on the 24th to buy Christmas gifts -- how can you get exactly what you want when everything's been picked over?

    What do I want for Christmas? A real (adjustable) tripod would be pretty awesome.

  37. oooh i must visit the market before i leave! i walked past it to to nando's and it seemed like such fun!
    and i don't actually have a lot of F21 clothing, i only bought some now because my grant actually came through haha, it is fun having to shop for "uniform" though.
